Leon de la Guardia was born in Chile, where he received his formative training before traveling to Europe to study under internationally respected masters in Barcelona, Vienna and Berlin. The tenopr is captivating audiences across Europe having performed lead roles across Europe. In 2015 he made his debut at the Arena di Verona singing to an audience of 15,000 at the Ice Spectacular televised in Europe. In addition to being praised for his “passion and vocal timbre”, his fans call him the “coolest and hottest tenor” of his GENERATION.
Since his professional debut in Spain, he has performed in renowned concert halls in Germany, Austria, Italy, Denmark, the Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Spain, Romania and France he has portrayed roles such as Bastian in Mozart’s Bastian and Bastienne; Arlecchino in Leoncavallo’s I Pagliacci; Crates in Etienne Niclas Mehul’s Bion; Rodolfo in Puccini’s La Boheme; Pinkerton in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly; Ismael in Verdi’s Nabucco; as well as Alfredo in La Traviata and Macduf and Malcom in Macbeth. He also recently performed at a mass-attendance concert in Santiago de Chile with the distinguished Chilean soprano Cristina Gallardo Domas, and has sung sacred works such as Bruckner’s Te Deum and Ramirez’ Misa Criolla.
Leon de la Guardia is currently preparing his portrayal of Jesus of Nazareth in the world premiere of the Via Crucis, a work commissioned by the Cofradia del Santisimo Cristo Mutilado de Malaga, and composed by the young Spanish composer Arturo Diez Boscovich.
