During this 2 hour, hands on design workshop, participants will learn how to create a garden that comes alive every season of the year. Instructor Kathy Noble, L.A., will delve into the mysteries of design, plant selection, hardscapes, microclimates and soils. Then starting with a base map of existing plants and physical structures, Noble will guide participants as they use tracing paper to visualize bloom sequences from spring through summer and structural interest during the winter. Everyone will leave with a personalized garden design and plant selection ideas that can be implemented as soon as spring arrives.
This class is the first in a 2-part series in garden design. Part Two “Design Your Garden for Water Conservation” will be held March 30 from 6:30-8:30 PM. You may sign up for both Part 1 and 2 for a reduced rate: $35 for SBG members/$45 for nonmembers.

Instructor: Kathy Noble received her Landscape Architecture degree from the University of Idaho. She has lived in the Wood River Valley for 40 years and for 25 years owned Sun Valley Florist. She designs, installs and maintains gardens throughout the Valley and is now the Gardens and Facilities Manager at the Sawtooth Botanical Garden.
